Swivels are used on many Spectrum Sports Int’l products.
They are a critical component in the safety chain of the Auto-Belay system. They keep your climbing wall cable from unwinding, a phenomena know as “bird caging.” They install between your quick-link and carabiner.
On bungee trampolines they keep your bungee cords from twisting up when jumpers flip.
Swivels should be replaced if they develop vertical “slop” or “play” in the joint, or if they fail to spin freely. They should be replaced if there are nicks, gauges, or wear from contact with other steel components.
